After a number of years, I can finally sit down to enjoy one of my favorite games. 
Brad, you did a wonderful job with bringing this game over to the Windows platform. I already had my first game and was really enjoying the differences between the old OS/2 version and the Windows version. There is enough similarity that I was able to use my old strategy of mass colonizing to get a sufficient base of operation to deal with the others. BTW, I had the level for each race set to "Normal" I have some questions,though.
1) How useful is it to try for an initial empire of 50 stars and then colonize those inner planets? I'm playing in a Gigantic size galaxy. I'm getting the sense that I need to rethink this old strategy.
2) I notice on two of my stars, a small red frowning face. What is that? I had settle those stars and was given an event dealing with indigenous life. In Civ 3 when I saw a city burning, I knew there was "Civil Unrest". Is this the case?
3) My game is from a recently bought CD (got it from EB). The version is 1.0.01 When I click on the desktop icon and get the Flash based menu, only "Exit" and "Play the Game" seem to work. The CD isn't in the game and my default browser is Netscape 7.01 What is missing?
