Migration to GC 2.0

I have not heard of any switch over senerios.

I wonder what will happen when GC 2.0 beta comes out hopefully in the next several months.

One day we will find the Metaverse and this Forum gone ?

I wonder what the player plans are ?

Here is what I plan on doing.

When the first public beta is introduced I plan on beta testing the program, and I will likely give up AP. Maybe not over night because early betas are typically not very stable but I suspect by the second or third beta I will stop playing AP.

As far as the empires and metaverse are concerned.

If a new GC 2.0 metaverse is created which would require new Empires I plan on recreating the Foundation, but I will not do point hoarding on the new Metaverse. That will likely change after GC 2.0 goes gold but in the beta stage I will just play GC 2.0 :notsure:

The IBH will more than likely move as well if it becomes obvious we have to. I will also switch to the beta as soon as it is released (Cant wait).

Not sure if i will completely stop playing AP, although if GC2 is good enough then the question of continuing to play the old AP is kind of mute. Why stay with the old version if the new one is better ?

Hopefully the powers that be will create a new Metaverse for the new version. I believe that a change is long overdue now.

Basicly, this what I plan to do too. My AP playing will be probably limited to testing other people's mods for AP.

I might stay an indy for awhile, if Aldar doesn't move over to a new metaverse.

Also, I imagine that a new metaverse itself will need to be beta tested too.

I certainly will not quit playing AP anytime soon even after GC 2.0 is out. I also plan on beta testing the new game but it will not take all my attention until it is playing decently.
My website is the main reason I will not stop playing AP. I have to test the Mods to be sure they work as described in order to get a NeoTech Certification it works & will not hurt your metaverse score. :)

New Metaverse? Do we know they will create a new one? Just wondered if this is an assumption or not. :notsure:

I will stay with Star Fleet and cross my fingers he creates a new one for GC 2.0. He is missing in action recently though maybe Q got him. :p

Well, whatever happens, I'll be there when GC 2.0 (beta) will be available.
Just hope it will be as moddable as GC and AP ;)

I'll purchase a subscription to total gaming .net to get the beta, basically offering GC2 would push me over the edge on it. :)

I saw some place that it will have a lot more options to Mod and not have things hard coded in the game. Like the UP issues they are not easy to create I understand unless it has been changed. :)

TNG is a must purchase for all serious players. :HOT:

I plan on getting GC2 after it is released and with my gaming history will most likely send GC / AP to the old games home in the basement. GC is one of the few games that I have come back to after beating it (HOMM3 and Civ3 were others)but with a new version that looks as good as GC2 , GC would face the final uninstall.

There will be a metaverse, or at least a link to a page that will be the new metaverse exists.
