Tech Tree Update: April 5th

The latest tech tree update includes:

- Starbase module interdependency now listed seperately in lower right corner
- Added a legend to lower left corner
- Modified various tech and arrow positioning for clarity
- Sensor, range and speed bonuses are now absolute instead of percentage based
- Miscellaneous formatting changes
- Social/military project, trade goods, achievements, and wonders now list actual build cost and maintenance where applicable

I have not had the time to complete the white background for-print versions however, but I do hope to have them up before this weekend is over. Both my websites have been updated now, I have sent the files to aerol as well:

My Yahoo site:
http://www.geocities.com/zai_h/galciv/techtree.html

My Tripod site:
http://zjnh134.tripod.com/

Aerol's mirror: (not updated yet, but keep your eyes open)
http://galciv.bsd.st/zai_h/

Chances are my sites will be overloaded pretty quickly. You can try checking back to them later or wait for Aerol's site to update. believe there might be another mirror site out there, but I don't have the URL at hand right now. Whoever is running that mirror please e-mail me and I will send you the files too.

My mirror should be updated in a minute. I think I overloaded your first site just downloading the new files, oops :P had to get the rest from the 2nd site.

I think the Yahoo HTML editor automatically converts relative links to direct ones, so I have no control over it. The code certainly looks like a relative link to me :notsure:

Hmm, possibly. Next time I'll just use mozilla's built in editor to save it. I grabbed it with IE, since thats what opens links in SDCentral (which is really annoying :P )

Excellent, thank you so much! You saved me from having to drill the thing out myself. LOL

It looks excellent, thanks for the legend, I was hoping you would put that in, and the starbase modules are great.

The white version would be perfect.. I print this thing out on a plotter, and it looks wonderful. The only problem I have is that the green prints on a HP plotter darker than it looks in your picture, and so it is not easy to read unless you are very close. Which makes me sad.. because I can read the rest from my chair. :p

I'll tweak some printer settings tho.. maybe I can make it lighter. But thank you.. very good work!

Does anyone know if Excel will automatically slice up large organization charts for printing? I can't even get a print preview on my machine because I don't have a printer attached. Maybe I've been doing this the hardway all along :/

fleabitfox:

I just made a few corrections to my system and got the print preview to work without my printer. It seems to me that Excel may in fact cut up my tech tree automatically for multi-page printing. Would you like me to send you the Excel spreadsheet and test it out? It's much easier to adjust the background of the document and its individual components if you can access the file directly. I think I'll upload the Excel file to my site so everyone can give it a shot.

The original Excel spreadsheet is now available at Aerol's site:

Please let me know if this allows you to print the tech tree directly from file. Thanks!

Yes, thanks! I can't mess with it until Monday, and I will, then. Your tech tree looks good on my wall. LOL
