Random settings?

Hi all.

I'm very much looking forward to the 26:th, and in the meantime I'm trying to learn as much as possible. GalCiv seems to have a great community around it, so I hpe you can help me with this question.

Do the alignment and intelligence options have a 'Random' setting?
Or will the player always know the alignment and intelligence of his opponents?

Thanks,
Sten

Great, thanks.

From what I have understood from the various descriptions and AAR's, there's a LOT of difference between the different intelligence settings.
What do you think, is the random setting *too* unprdictable, or do you use it a lot?

I believe the bonus pack adds a lot more to this setup so I can't really comment. I usually place all races on the same intelligence (which I know) and then randomise the moral.

Sten,

I had a similar thought yesterday. For the intelligence settings, an upper and lower bound on the random setting is sufficient to solve this problem. That way, if you are an "normal" player, you could set the range to be "normal to bright" and then randomize it.

Doktorstick,

Exactly my thought.
Even better would be tick-boxes to choose which levels would be elegible for the random choice. But just an upper and lower range would be almost as good.

Only problem with tick-boxes is space. It shouldn't be too hard to squeeze in a couple drop boxes for high/low, though.

For some reason I overlooked this thread and just posted the very same question about randomness in intelligence and morality. The above replies are good news.
