Game Recap: Always behind on tech?

Folks,

It may just be me, but every time I load a game and get the (very!) helpful game recap, it states I have fallen behind technically. But, if I look at the technology compare chart I am bazillions of time higher in the charts versus any competition. Am I reading this chart incorrectly? Has anyone experienced the same?

Actually, when you get way WAY ahead of all the races technoligically, it will eventually tell you on the recap that "We are doing ok technologically". I guess your advisors just don't want you to get cocky! :D

I've noticed, that the basic techs (the "____ theories") aint't tradeable even for trading goods, therefore I suppose they've got a higher "nominal" value than all the other techs. The AI researchs them first (most often) and so perhaps the game thinks they were more advanced, even though you have adv trade, engineering etc. - try researching all the basic techs, and look if that fixes the report. Of course if you did that already forget what I've said.

"We are doing ok technologically". Yes, got that message too, my rating then was 400+ in technology. I played "tiny galaxy cake walk" (I know, I know, but remenber I just tried to win a game and put my first score in the metaverse, so I'm there now ;) "). Perhaps in some way this is connected to the way the AI views you at sub intelligent levels?
