Two Newbie questions

1> I'm seeing my parties votes diminish each year is there any way to ensure that my party continues to win the senate vote each year.

2> How do I increase my colony ships range to allow colonization of far off worlds?

1). Don't sweat it unless your overall morale drops near or below 60%. I have had games where my morale dropped below 55% and still held the senate, and times where it dropped below 58% and lost the senate.

2). In additon to colonization there are two ways to extend your range: a). research the range extending techs "controlled gravity" and "gravity mastering" (see JavaScout's tech tree documents for prereques), b). build constructors and send them to the edge of your current range and construct star bases.

The easiest way to increase your range beyond what it is is to colonize a new planet or a starbase near the border. This increases your influence in the area, and thus increases your range, which I believe is measured from your nearest planet.
