Drengin.net Package (Opinions)...

I am just curious of what peoples opinions are on purchasing the entire Drengin.net package.

Are the other games worth the extra money?

Also, if I do purchasing it, it means I have a subscription to this exact date next year? It also entitles me to any other games they release via Drengin.net over the next year, correct?

It also entitles me to download on March 26th(if I purchase today(March 11th)), the full version of Galactic Civilization?

I did look around for these questions, but alot of threads seem to conflict with each others. Some saying it doesn't start till Galactic Civilization comes out, and some saying it didn't start till the 1st of January this year. So I thought to ask a few questions before I put down my money. :)

The subscription is valid for one whole year, there are already several other games included to DL. On the 26th you can indeed DL the Gold version of Galciv as well as the bonus pack. Everything released in the subscription year is included also. After that year you can renew at a lower monthly or yearly subscription price.

The cost of dregin.net is $70.00. Galciv costs 40.00, 3 full(decently good) games and a couple of small games right now. which means you're getting those for $30.00 more, plus access to any games that they do in the near future, like the political machine(yeah, politics) they've been talking about doing....

Drengin.net promotes gaming ideas that couldn't exist in a retail market......

Heck, I orignally bought Drengin.net for The Corporate Machine, so getting Gal Civ is just a nice bonus for me. If you've never tried out TCM, you really should. Wonderful, entertaining, and innovative game.

Thanks for all the information. I am likely going to get the subscription, since I want to support smaller developers. (Also bought Out of the Park 5 and Front Office Football 4 a little while back(two text sport sims)) :) Well, all the other games will give me something to do till GalCiv comes out. :)

Sorry, I guess I should of made my message about The Federation Outpost a bit clearer. Was just trying to see if there was anyone from the community around BOTF when it was released, around here. :)

Sadly, The Federation Outpost no longer exists. It was up for approximately a year before release of BOTF, and about a month and a half afterwards. It was located at the now dead gamestats.com(botf.gamestats.com). I thought of myself as one of the big three new sites for the game, botf.com, and The Neutral Zone being the other. Those were the days. :)

Unfortunately, the community for it kind of died off rather quickly besides for a few people and people moved onto others games. *sighs*

I have been thinking of creating a new site for GalCiv though! :)

Don't believe so. Brad's mentioned in the past that all you'd need is the serial number of GalCiv and that it'd work just as well with a store-bought copy.
