Transport ships and colony ships should not be auto launched!

Because what we end up with is the ship with wrong population on board.
Alternatively, when auto launch happens, player should be asked about the portion of the troops that he wish to transfer on board.

This is why auto-launch is selectable.

Yeah I'd like to see this changed to. Also, it seems like the auto launch is star specific, not planet specific.

It is planet specific.. each planet has a 'auto launch' checkbox. Just don't select planets that are going to make those sorts of ships. Although, it admittedly would be easier to just have those types not autolaunch ever.

What I'd like to see is an empire-wide list of ships you want to autolaunch (those you don't put on the list are not autolaunched), with a planet-by-planet override checkbox that prevents all ships from autolaunching from the planet.

Brad posted somewhere else that it would confuse people to have those not auto-launched while others were.

It's kind'o messy now IMHO... the planet level toggle is more of a chore than a help if it has to be changed whenever production switches from colony/transport to warships !
I'd rather have just one global toggle, and NO auto launch of colonies/transport, else I'm letting all planet at "no" autolaunch to avoid the boarding problem... So we're back to initial problem with all ships in orbit :(

I don't have any problems with this feature. When I'm building transports I just switch the autolaunch off. Easy as pie.

Well, this in some sense defeats the purpose of the autolaunch – to be convenient. Before, you also could just press the launch button, it was also easy.
