Questions about Creativity, Destabilitzation, Technology

Hi these are all completely unrelated items but I'm too lame to post three messages LOL

First, to Frogboy, I am in AWE! This game is better than most games out of the box (in other words, it doesn't NEED three patches to even be playable) and yet you are patching like mad and making improvements. And you listen! I'm drooling. I hope you guys make an insane amount of money from this game: that way maybe the "big boys" will realize that a little customer service goes a long way.

Okay, end love fest.

Question #1) What exactly is Creativity? I chose it in my last two games because it is only one point and there is no way to increase it after the game starts. But what does it actually do?

Question #2) How does Destabilization work? My assumption is that it goes towards lowering the morale of the target empire's morale. But is that all? Do the destablized planets get a better chance of defecting to your empire?

Question #3) This is just a scoring question. It seems that you don't get points (or at least not as many) for techs that you don't research yourself. If so then for point maximization it makes sense to only trade your own techs to other races for money and then use the funds to research the techs yourself. Am I right about this?

Thanks!

Creativity gives you more chance of either A) getting techs you otherwise couldn't get because of alignment, and/or B) Finishing a tech you're working on early. I think it's B, but common wisdom used to be A. Your mileage may vary.

Destablization works as just you just said. I believe that low morale planets have a better chance of defecting to your empire, assuming your influence is strong in that sector, so yes, it does that too.

Seems like sound logic to me. OTOH, buying techs might be able to enable you to raise your score in other ways, like with an early win. Personally, I think the scoring is so imbalanced at this point that I don't even worry about it. Pretty much the perfect route to a high score is Gigantic on Subnormal; it won't be a hard game, but it'll be a high-scoring one.
