Bought the Deluxe Edition and having key code problems? Read this!

Also, the text is case sensitive. It sees a A as different from an a.

So are you saying that when I receive my copy of GalCiv DE that I have to switch reg codes? ...erm, ok. I was thinking it all came on one cd ..guess not.

yeh so what do we do, i want to get the prelude to war and all i can do is register gal civ, but u need to register Alterian Prophecy to get prelude to war!

Since the campaing are only available for AP, it is normal. Have you only Galciv or also AP?

ive got the deluxe edition which includes AP but i have a gal civ key with GC1 in the middle.

You should have 2 keys but they are interverted: The Galciv key is what is incorrectly labelled as AP key and the AP key is what is incorrectly labelled as GC key.

Thats is strange Have you tried to contact Strategy First about the fact you have only one key instead of 2? They are responsible of putting keys with the game sold at retail.

New player here...
I bought the deluxe edition at retail, it came with a GC1 key but not an AP1 key.
I sent Strategy First a message a week ago and got no response.

What do I do now?

Has having only one cd key acutely stopped you from doing any thing? I have also only got one key with my deluxe-ed with it but it installed fine. Admittedly I did have to enter the code in twice because of a mistype. I have even registered the serial with star dock and it congratulated me on purchasing the deluxe edition.

I only have one cd-key for the "gold edition" ( orginal with altarian exp set ).

When i try to upgrade using stardock, it says the CD key is invalid, but upgraded the pdf and the multimedia folder.

Ok, another addition to this thread:

Same Problem with the german retail version of Galciv Gold.
Can't update because the registration key on the backside
of the game manual (the only one...) isn't accepted as a
valid s/n by Stardock Central.
A little help in this matter would be appreciated.

got German Gold Ver. too, (lousy translation!!) can't Update!!! Only 1 Key (with GC1 in the middle). People here bought this Version. Any solution?

Yup!

The problem can be solved if you write an e-mail to stardock support in which you describe the problem.
Worked for me.
They'll want to know your current serial number, but will send you two functioning product keys.
The new patches will switch the language back to english, which is a great improvement compared to the admittedly hilarious translation.

i just emaild them, got an automatic repley with a 2 day period. Hope they do something. Support of other company is often much less than stellar and the support of M$ is a joke, ab bitter one

Similar problem for me... I got 2 altarian prophecy keycodes, and none for galciv on disk 1. Disk 1 doesn't accept either of these. Bummer.

ok so i got the same thing as you 2 AP key codes, i emailed tech support what did you do?

Same problem as well. 2 AP codes. E-mailed tech support but it looks like that's a 9-5 M-F deal. No joy for me this weekend. (:(

Given the number of posts here, I think it may be time for the "sticker guy" to look for another line of work.
