Can't use some Ship Mods

Hello, can anyone tell me why some of the ship-mods don't work with my GalCiv?

I have no problems at all using Chippoka's Borg Cube, but the FireHawk from the EvilPack and the Patrol from the OmegaShips appear "invisible" in the blueprint screen, the fleet screen, and the main screen.

I have no such problems with turgotZ files (some StarTrek ships and the SpaceShark) either.

Yep. Least I finally nuked it out, as they say.

I have that Star Trek mod, and noticed the regular Star Base has a movement of 2 vice 1. I've yet to figure out how the modder did that!

Chippoka, i got some pics that i'd like to mail you, but i don't know where to (looked at your profile in the settlers pages, but found no mailadress there). If you don't like to post your e-mail adress here, tell me, then i'll do it.

Once again i'll be off for a few days, i'll be back around tuesday the 15th.

Is there a way to change the name tag of forum threads? I think this thread is far removed from it's original meaning, and Chippokas mods and the Starbase discussion might be interesting for other players as well (who perhaps won't read this due to the now misleading name tag).

How do u make the background? - As I have tried some time ago to change the WhiteStar.ship I had at the end no proper background in the game.

Background? What do you mean?

Make it transparent? If so, you need a Paint Program, such as Paint Shop Pro 9 (or similar) which can work with *.PNG type files to include setting transparent regions. In Paint Shop Pro it is easy to do this. I normally use black as the back-drop (back-ground); I then tell Paint Shop Pro to set "Transparent" the "Back-Ground" color, which is black (I can use any color I want - and can ask that any color to be set as "Transparent").

Once you "Set" the transparent background, you can import the PNG file into the Sprite Tool program once you have created your 32 frame film strip (with transparent background) - this is a single and narrow (64 to 70 bit tall), but very long PNG picture with 32 shots of your ship in various positions (whatever... I use 24 frames for this - much more if there is animation).
