Its very hard not to take what the aliens do to you personally. They use to make me so angry I'd terror star the same race for the next 5 games for a slight they did me in a previous game. You really do learn to hate certain Races. The Yor are always on the top of my hate list but the Korx and Dregin get not so honorable mention as well. >:(

you can, if you want, play the game in 35 minutes and win an alliance victory for 60K points.

That's pathetic, and I may not ever play this game again because of it

Nameistoad, you should try and play the game using your strategies and you will get much enjoyment out of the game. Forget about the score. I think that this game would do just fine without a score. My favorite AI levels are Normal and Tough with all the AI turned on.

You guys are probably right. I should have said I'll never submit to the metaverse again...

heat of the moment and all that...

It's still pathetic that they would employ such a predictable scoring system... and that people would be proud of scores based on such a scoring system...

Is anyone proud of working the grill at McDonald's? If you are, is it because you run the grill, or because you have good relationships with your co-workers?

Playing a game McDonald's style is more work than play, and certainly not a worthwhile endeavor... :(

The metaverse is a trap, don't fall in.

On the other hand its not as easy flipping burgers to perfect a fast game strategy at Maso. Sometimes you got no choice but to fight a few wars and the dream of a 35 minute game is gone. I leave save games off and play what ever comes my way. It also takes hours of practice to bring game time down to that level even if I gave you my strategy.

When the top scores only came with military the top players only played that way and still won quickly. People will do what ever it takes when your playing for scores.

When the game 1st came out tech victory was the high score and people just sat in the corner and research tech for the maximum win. So they adjusted the scoring system then.

When I started playing there were lots of players and the empires were very competitive and you wanted to help your team move up so you tried to maximize the score. Its only since the AP came out that you could get the maximum on alliance.

Its not like we could not win the game at any level, and any victory condition we want. We are good at it.

When I move over to Gal Civ 2 I'm not even going to look at the Meta and just play for pure joy of destroying the Yor. Quote me on this then, would you please Newfy. ;)

I play the game for fun as well.... but it sure don't hurt to be on the top page of the Meta LOL
Meh, I've recently played a few normal level games heh it rocked ; the last one which got me 18,000 something MPTS. :) I'm playing with my own strategies here mostly; except the control+n a few times Which I never used to do for most of my games. :p
