Missing ship shields

The problem of occasional missing ship shields still exists. It may be related to when you have more than one ship built in a single turn. I have definitely seen the second ship fail to produce a shield around the planet it was at.

It has nothing to do with the number of ships in orbit, nor is it related to ship completions. I have had this
occur when scrolling across it then not there when scrolling across it again in the same turn. This is not a
way to recreate it, as it is not consistant and does happen under other conditions. I have yet to get any handle
on any particular action/condition that is involved.

I've never noticed the existence of shields - although I've researched the technology plenty of times. How is it supposed to work and how can I see it?

The ship shields we are talking about are the ones that show up on an occupied star system when a ship
is in orbit.

I think the shields are only placed on a planet with a ship activly defending it (Defender, Star Fighter, Battle Cruiser ect). Non-military craft will not cause the shield to appear.

Scott,

You may be correct. But this still does not explain a shield that vanishes when no ships with defence
capability has left orbit. The shield is there one turn, gone the next, no (zero) ships left orbit.

No, because a scout will make a shield appear. I'm not really sure what's up with the code...I'll check it really quickly...

Well, I tested it without FOW on a tiny galaxy and it worked fine...I don't know if FOW would mess it up...I put it on my list of things to test when we have an alpha build ready.
