Technician is a scam!!!!!!!

Technician is a scam!!!!!!!

Check his games. How can he complete 2 or 3 games per day at the masochistic level with a gigantic universe and win evrey one of them with exactly 60,000 points. It is impossible. He has obviously found a way to enter the same game over and over. Please have his score adjusted acordingly and look in to some other top players as there are other suspicious looking streaks, just not to the extent of our scaming leader. Some people will never know the great feeling of earning a win. Think about it.

I have found that the more planets you colonize after 3-5 slows you down as you don't progress as fast. My quickest games have been with either 2 or 3 planets. I have even won with a single planet, but then you have do everything on the single planet and that slows you down. Actually, 4 is ideal in my opinion. this allow you to assign the other planets minor wonders and Trade Goods that only affect the entier system and same those that affect the planet developing them for your home planet. You must do these things in parallel to speed things up. I don't turn off save, but have it set at every 12 turns. This give me the option when I lose a TG by one turn to back up and adjust when I start that TG. ED takes them as they come - different tactic.

I never have more than 5 planets colonized. Means i can move onto thge research side of the game faster. Most of the speed players also save their game, initiate the cheats to find the AI players then reload their saved games so they know where to head to meet them. Saves hours of searching.

I believe that most also CTRL+N for a new game until they get a good starting place. Starting in the middle of the screen is harder but makes the game go faster as most of the AI's find you first. This also means you get more credits from trade as well.

Hope that helps a bit.

I think the Best stepped into more than he can handle. I'm not a super player but I can crank out 60K one after the other. Not multiple games a day but I like to do the military things. When I came back to GalCiv I was playing lower difficulties and wondering "how do they do it?" so I went to the strategy sections here and in the Embassy, joined an Empire to glean what I could from other members, and made an effort to learn more about the game.

Guess what happened. I can play at any level and get 60K on Maso, even with a military win. I also used to just be a lurker on the forums but (to the chagrin of the wife) have become an active poster.

Tech's scores are legit, he's an excellent player and his methods work for even the less experienced.

Best, I doubt you have the guts but I think a public apology is in order. Either way we can consider the source and give your comments the (cough)"credit" they deserve.
:p :p :p

It is really quite simple to turn out games at 60k. Really easy. If you don't believe it, ask the developers. They will tell you. The popular loopholes that we use are closed with each update. There have been many of these. Read the forum, the information is there. Just because you may utterly stink at the game, or you can't derive a straegy to win at the higher difficulty levels gives you no reason to bash Tech or any of the upper level players.

Or perhaps simply ask how it's accomplished. There are lots of great people on this forum. All of us are more than willing to share our stratagies.I've said my piece.

Actually, I've likely been programming and playing 4x games longer than you've been alive; and with this particular brand of game (it is very good well done in my estimate - look foward to the next edition), I have plently of hours in it and know it well enough to win given fair circumstances and NOT CHEATING; but you failed to convince me - bottom line? It is as I said before: there is likely some cheating going on, it's not uncommon for kids and hackers to cheat - duh (it is easy to do in this game, duh, especially if using rigged custom maps); and yes, using "loop holes" (one of which I explained in my earlier post) as you put it, IS cheating in most peoples' minds.

Lots of people on these forums? Not, lol, try Unreal Tournament 2004 forums if you want to see "lots." This place is fairly dead (sorry) - partly due to it being a extremely poor forum design, a non-standard forum. For a real forum, try:

I'm sure there are many others as well...

There is an old saying that started during the Star Wars push back in the mid '80s. There were people who said it couldn't be done, and the response to them was, indeed, they could not do it. Think about it. There are thos who do and thos who complain about thow who do.All the things you suggest would result in a non-submittalbe game. Try them, you will see.
End of quote

Think about how easy it is to cheat in this game! And think about the fact that cheating is very popular (see all the cheat web sites) and think about the fact that kids are very well known to attempt to cheat! Oh, so understand, I am seeing things clearly regarding this...

As far as game submissions? Ha! Turn some good hacker loose on it. There are lots of them, especially among our youth playing games like this (duh). And as far as assuming I'm talking only about JUST submitting games? Think twice. I'm referring mostly to off-line playing without giving a frell about submitting for a ego boost or whatever! And on-line submissions? C'mon, it ain't aways so easy to protect such given a good hacker or "Loop Holes" missed by the system as another mentioned.

And those who do win in short times? Great, I think in optimum circumstances it can be done as other posts have detailed), but as for proving it? That's a whole 'nuther matter! There is HUGE room for doubting so-called short time claims, especially in this game...

This thread makes me sorry I missed the last couple days. I invite the author of this thread to look at my profile. First, notice that I have only been submitting about 2 1/2 months. Second, notice that I have subnitted any where from 1 to 9 games on a given day. Third, notice approx the 16th of Dec. See those 25 games posted? I know how I did it. My friends in this forum know how I did it too. Lots of others can post multiple maso's on any given day. You blasted Tech, are you blasting the rest of us as well? If so I invite you to explore all of the forums here as well as at the embassy. You may find knowledge there that may well help you improve you game. Do not let your own ignorance lead you down a road that will have you removed from this site.

especially if using rigged custom maps)

Rigged custom mapps will not submit. The only custom maps that will submit are those made by Stardock. If you make your own, you can play them, but not submit them. You illustrate again you don't know what you are talking about.

So, if you don't want so submit, you can turn the cheats on in the game. It designed so you can do so if you want. But that game will not be one that shows up in anyone history of game submission.

I guess that since you are refering to the young as the "cheats" you have little respect for them. There are lots of us older players that understand the game better than some young hacker who can't win on his own.

There are seucrity items built into the game that identifies those that would cheat and try to submit. I doubt that you even know about those. Reference to some kid hacker to find them is imaterial - you don't know them.

Why are you wasting your time on this board or even playing the game. With your attitude you would be better off playing another game somewhere else.

I for one vote to ban you from the board. You aren't interested in the game or learning how it works. Please leave.
Why would so many people find satifaction in cheating. :notsure: Makes no sense to me. There is no mass conspiracy here. Every game you play is different or it would be to boring to play. We all took a long time to get to this level. We just click turn faster then you.

Everything we do, we do with honor.

I think there are two people doubting about multiple 60K per day: THEBSETAINTYOU and Chippoka. At least, Chippoka try to defend his point of view, and is active in the mod section.

I'm referring mostly to off-line playing without giving a frell about submitting for a ego boost or whatever!

As you want, but it isn't the topic of the thread, which is about submitting multiple 60K in the same day.

And on-line submissions? C'mon, it ain't aways so easy to protect such given a good hacker or "Loop Holes" missed by the system as another mentioned.

The mentionned "Loop Holes" refer to some short-sighted behaviors of the AI.

BTW, you should take a look at this thread http://www.galciv.com/forum.asp?BID=GF&id=177400, watch the date and see some records of the current top players. You will see that they have keep their scores but have submitted many 60K games a day and that the audit have found nothing against them.

There really is no reason to cheat. You can play smaller maps for less than the 60K limit and still go quite high in the metaverse if that's your goal. I have actually scored the max 60K less than 5 times but I made the top 10 in 6-7 months. After playing dozens of games, you can get quite good at the game. The time to play drops from making fewer mistakes plus the time savings from knowing all of the quick-keys and menus by heart.

I use mods not to speed up the game or make it easier to win, but to increase the variety of the experience. In fact many of the mods benefit the AIs as well or better than me. I stopped playing for the most part because the mod making has dried up and I ran out of ideas for my own mods.

First and foremost play for your own love of the game. The metaverse is purely for the comraderie and friendly competition.

Edit: I don't think Chippoka should be banned for voicing legimate concerns. Honestly, I think we can all say that at some point that we all wondered whether some form of cheating was occuring.

I have been playing almost as long as Technician. We have been on two Teams together from almost the beginning. In the beginning Technician like most of us oldtimers were discussing strategies and trying to find out the tricks to beating MASO, getting a higher score as well has helping newer players than ourselves.

If you check Tech's games you will find that like many of us he was just an average player. At the time he started posting his 60K games you can find in the strategy threads, the method to get 60K.

Then something snapped in our good friend Tech and he started posting 3 - 4 games per day and has kept it up for about 10 months.

There a tricks to play the game fast and these are documented in the strategy forums. My personal best is about 2 hours with MASO huge. My person best time getting 60K, MASO, Medium was about 1.5 hours.

Another thing, Stardock has found at least 3 instances of cheating at 2 different times and removed those people. During the last time, Tech and many others were still posting multiple 60K games. Stardock did not find those people cheating. I am reasonably sure that they still check from time to time.

THEBESTAINTYOU, I am not sure why you are so upset. Technician has worked hard to get where he is. While many of us believe that he is a bit crazy to keep up his game playing pace he did get to #1 honestly.

I'm fairly sure Tech is not cheating. :)
He may have no life though. :p ;)

Once again i ask everybody to please leave this thread to die!

Whilst i know Tech would be the first to thank you all for coming to his aid in these dire times.. I would like you all to look at the thread and think for a moment. So far there has been two negative posts from people in this thread, but the thread total now stands at 40 posts!!!

If only one of us had responded and left it at that this ridiculous thread would now be nearly at the bottom of the main page!

We all agree Tech does not cheat so lets all please leave this thread without any more posts and let it go. All players are alowed to voice their opinion however absurd it may be...

Please, no more posts here!

Darth, I am not sure that I like you moderating this thread. This thread like all others will die in its own time. People want to post an opinion let them. If it starts a flame war then I am sure that Stardock will intercede.

It is kind of an unfortunate title to keep at the top of the first page, though.

Personally, I don't like it when a game goes fast. I want to get to know the map and the AIs. When I conquer the Drengin empire and that whole big red area turns blue I feel a sense of accomplishment at having defeated an opponent. If the Drengin space had only been Drengin space for a few minutes there wouldn't be anything special about claiming it for humanity.

Then again I'm not really playing the meta. If I was trying to conquer that I might get a warm fuzzy feeling from a bunch of 60Kers. But I don't care about that; I just like the little icons below my posts. Check out my empire's logo. Isn't it neat? That's at least half the reason I chose it.

I totaly agree with Mace if you want to continue this discussion start a new thread with a less insulting name tag. If someone has the power to change the tag, then they should or let it die. Every post to this thread now is an insult to Tech.
