When does a "good" civ go to war?

Hi everyone. I wonder when that is. For example, Altarians and me are allies and we're "good", but they went to war with Alexians which are also my allies. Why is that? Is it because our third ally, "neutral" Torians, attacked Alexians first, so Altarians are only "going alone"? Can a "good" civ attack a major or a minor unprovoked - that means that no one attacked them first (you know, with ships and army). Thanx fot the help.

The "Good" races exploit weak races.

Good races may not go to war as fast but all AI races are warmongers.

Hmm... So being good or evil mostly effects direction of research and discoveries? If I'm good and decide to wipe out some weak minor race, that want effect my "goodness" and relations with other "goodies"? Am I right?

It also affects how quickly your relations with other races decays.

It shouldn't - all the effects appear to be from your decisions on events.
