Well… I haven’t done this for a while… I haven’t really let you guys know that I have been up to indiscriminate nothing… you know, a niece here, and soon a nephew there… oh, and I think I am falling in love!!! hehehe…
It’s weird how things work out… I recall laughing it up at people who have found that someone special on the other side of the planet via the net… you know, it was just a concept I have never been able to comprehend, that is, until last week…
It’s amazing how you can just feel that connection with someone just by what they say to your in emails… how they react to what you say, and how you can share a laugh and moments of real emotion. It also helps a great deal when they are ridiculously good looking! Which is very lucky on her part hey? Hehe…
It’s a great feeling, but I won’t bore you on my besotted state, but I thought I would let you know, you will inevitably pick up on my mood anyways… She makes me feel great, I mean, I used to feel good, but this feeling is great!
I have been having a lot of fun with the boys lately… hanging out with Glen and Lyndon pretty much every Friday and Saturday night… last weekend whilst we were out, Glen said that I hade made it to his groomsmen list… the dude is 24, and thinks of nothing but sex 24 hours a day, so the thought of marriage is a bit of a joke at the moment, but the thought was really nice! I was a bit shocked when he said it to me actually! He broke up with his lady a few months ago, and I suppose I have been there to be a mate, and give him the support he needs – in this situation, going out every weekend, getting wasted, and seeing what the female population of Melbourne has to offer us! Or maybe, what we have to offer them
hehe…
Our friendship is convenient! The most convenient I have ever had! We both work the same early shift at work, and we both live within 10 minutes of each other in the best area of Melbourne – the inner east. It’s so close to so many quality establishments, we are spoilt for choice. We also share the same taste in music… he really is one of my best mates, whilst I can’t think of marriage for a while yet, He is certainly an individual that I would do anything for.
Lyndon is Glen’s roommate, and he became a best mate by default… Obviously they are very close, so it’s inevitable that I would get along with Lyndon famously as well!!! If Glen is feeling a bit soft, not willing to go out, I can always rely on Lyndon to get him motivated… we really are quite a team!!!
I don’t know why I just told you all that crap, I guess I just feel like recollecting the past few weeks, and those guys are a big chunk of it!!! We have been out A LOT - probably the most consistent bunch of mates I have… You know how you have different groups of friends, and you split your weekends and evenings between them to make them all happy and feel less neglected? Well, with Lyndon and Glen, my other friends get neglected; I just have so much fun with those guys!!! The things we do!!!
Can you imagine three ridiculously good looking young men, hitting the pubs of Melbourne with the pre-determined agenda of having a blast? Well, that is us three in a nutshell, except we are much nicer, funnier, charming and considerate than your average ridiculously good looking young man! I suppose you will have to take my word for it. When together, we have no inhibitions at all. You will either find us on the dance floor, shaking our thing with a jug and a plethora of young ladies also enjoying themselves – we fear nothing! That’s when all the ladies meet my friend Glen… hehe… Whenever we want to talk to a group of fine young fillies, I will just walk up to them, and ask them “have you met my friend Glen?” and the rest is history!
Haha… enough about boys being boys, that’s enough testosterone for you to handle… have a boring slice of the Mug life… Over the next two weeks I am responsible for national project management at my work… it’s not a raise or promotion per se, but the project manager is on leave, so I am really proud that they choose me to run the show in her absence! It shows that management has faith in me – National project management is no big deal, I am finding it hard, but the challenge is refreshing! I know I can do a good job and put myself in a good position for further career progression! It feels nice to be respected.
Sometimes it is tough though… when I deal with clients on big deals, when they see me, and how young I am, they feel a bit un-easy with my youth, I can understand that! I don’t know how comfortable I would feel leaving the wellbeing of my companies IT in the hands of a 22 year old! I think it’s great though, my work is a great environment of respect, and this doubt on the clients part does us a world of good in the end, because we always exceed expectations… the golden rule of client service is promise little, deliver big.
And of course, there is the very small matter of my beautiful baby niece Alexandra. We went over on Sunday, that’s my brother, sister, and her partner. I snatched little Lexi of her darling mother as soon as we got there and nestled myself on the couch. The miracle that is life is certainly excellent to behold. I don’t understand how we were so little!!! There is a working heart, stomach, brain inside that tiny little bundle of joy! She was actually due yesterday, so now the crying has started…
For the first three weeks, Lexi was happy to remain docile as though still in the womb, Mummy and Daddy were happy with that, but now the sleepless nights have started. I am so proud of my sister and brother and law… they make the best parents!!! I have made a concerted effort to make Danielle feel a bit special… you know, with post natal depression and all that, I was a bit concerned – she has a great support group of friends and family, and she is just fine!
This Saturday is my cousin’s 21st… it is in a country town called Ararat, three hours from Melbourne, notorious for its cold whether. My Pakistani father in law is scared to death of the place because it gets so cold at night! So Lexi’s first official family outing might be postponed… It doesn’t worry me; I can see her whenever I want! and that will be every Sunday night for the rest of my life as long as we are in the same city! I cant beleive how much love can just come from no-where!
I tried to wriggle out of said 21st because I have another friends on the very same night, she has been a good friend to me over the years… she is one of my mate Glen’s (a different one) girlfriends… not only that, but there is this awesome dance party on Friday night, and my house mate is playing – shaping up to be a good one, and no doubt an all night affair. I will also bee seeing alot of my other friends I haven't hooked up with in a while, along with Glen and Lyndon! So yeah exhaustion will ensue with a three hour drive and relentless beer consumption!
There was no way I couldn’t come to my cousin’s 21st though. I really need to see my Nana, she is old, and of course, she loves me! My auntie heard that there was a possibility that I may not attend, but she got on the phone to my sister, and basically said the family would be shattered if I didn’t come because they love me so much!!! Why wouldn’t they love me though! I love them all tremendously… My mums side of the family really looked out for us when my father died, and I will be repaying that love for some time to come… now that I am typing and thinking about it, I am looking forward to the nice meal I will share with my Nan and my Aunties, and the nice beers I will share with my uncles and cousins!
It’s going to be quite a taxing weekend indeed, but I feel great for aforementioned reasons… their really isn’t much in this world that can keep me down right now… exhaustion might do it’s part, but I could take a sicky on Monday? Alas… I need to impress with my project management caper…
Would Spiderman take a sicky? No, he would assume the responsibility… yeah… I am Spiderman… hehe…
BAM!!!

I feel so bad for giving you crap about your little online lust... but I have discovered that two people can really feel genuine attraction for each other, no matter what the distance! and if they are serious enough, the distance problem can be eradicated with a plane trip and a teeny weeny little life adjustment!
