Mission 8 Insanely tough ships

I am on misson 8 of the alterian series and it seems like the comp is really cheating. There corvettes are taking out my ships like cardboard. I have an armoda of coverttes and battleships and somehow they are fighting me with one corvette at a time. Each corvette takes a ship out before i can kill it and they are running through my ships like nothing i have ever seen before. How can their ships be so tough and so many?


Any advice on handling such a military powerhouse?

One advice is not to fight with them. These ships cost maintanance and weaken the economy of the AI.

You can lurk powerfull ships in remote regions with fast ships like scouts etc. All you need is good sensors and speed. This is why I always try to get "Gravity Accelerators" and "Eyes of the Universe"

Concentrate on intercepting transports and defending your starbases.

It should be sufficient to max your starbase defenced with defence modules (send constructors). Though you need a minimum of repair abilities to keep them alive.

You really have a problem when you can't break through the defence of the transports. Then you need better military abilities, i.e. research military techs and starbases on military ressources.
