"Our incredible ability in diplomacy gives us a great advantage" = B.S.

The AI is certainly getting an unfair deal every time I play.

For example, in my latest game I'm a few turns into the game and I just researched Universal Translator.

So I talk to the Torians and in order to get "Defense Theory", I have to give them "Communications Theory", "Universal Translator" AND... over 600 in BC to get the deal "green". That's more than half of my treasury to even a deal that is already very lopsided in their favor!

If I try to do a "yellow" deal and offer them both techs without the cash, they decline and say 'and this is a good deal HOW?'

Exactly how does this represent the AI playing without an unfair advantage? A fair deal would be Communications Theory for Defense Theory straight up, or maybe with a slight cash difference if either tech was more or less favored by the AI.

Sometimes the AI is agreeable...sometimes the AI isn't.

Sometimes they'll sell me a starbase for a song. Sometimes they won't sell me a frieghter for all the tea in China.

Sometimes they refuse to give me a key tech even after I offer them 5 good one. Sometimes they come to me an offer me the key tech for a single good one.

Sounds pretty damn realistic to me actually.
