Figured out the scoring system for Metaverse.

It is exactly the total of all your scores submitted, divided be two. WOW. So do not submit a score til you have 3000+ score and you will be rated as one of the top 30 players. And never submit anything but 2000 to 3000+ scores to look real good. Kinda sad. And if you look, that is exactly what people are doing. Does not make a plauseable accounting of skill. >:(

Sorry, but you're wrong.

Metaverse score = (Sum of game scores) / (Square root of number of games played)

If you've played 4 games (which, I just checked, you have), then your statement is true. But once you've played 9 games, it will be your sum score divided by 3...

And if you look, you'll see not EVERYONE does that (look at my scores, if you like...)

and mine. I just send 'em in. as long as I don't get bumped off the server for too low a score I don't care. eventually I wanna play a game against an AI based on how I truly play the game. :)

Yeah, like one of these "I fight my parallel-universe self" Star Trek episodes! LOL

That just gave me an idea. Tomorrow, I am going to find a picture of Spock with that alternate universe goatee, and mod it into the game somehow. :D

yeah, no way am i going to go through the tedium of militarily winning gigantic maps at any AI level just to get a high score.

i post all my games as well, gives me a history of my progression through games.

Although I agree with Ash, Ray, Dearmad and all the other honest players out there, I think it is indeed questionable, why playing on small maps gives you SUCH a big difference scoring wise. But since there was no comment to this topic by the developers yet, I suppose it will stay as it is. Therefore being angry or anything like that won't do any good, while increasing your cholesterine. Take it as it is: the Universe isn't fair. ;)

And maybe this scoring system is just another moral dilemma:

- Submit every score, even if you lost
- Submit only the scores above 500, never a loss.
- Are you a Gungan?! I shall rule the Metaverse by sending my Giga-Cheese-Games only!!

It's up to you... ;)

I Agree, looking at my scores you will see i will submit any game that i play, the first two games of mine show up as wins for some reason, but i actually lost those.

I like to be able to see my progression as i go through the game, im currently playing on the challenging level, and finding it much more tricky :)

The metaverse is fun, but ill leave the top 25 to the people who will only post the 3000+ scores on gigantic maps :)

DOn't worry about early games showing up as wins. One of the early patches changed the way we submit wins and losses (so now you can actually see how the player won/lost) It shouldn't effect your overall score.

Not all top 25 people have to post 3000+ wins on gigantic maps only. Games do add up, so submitting many games with lower scores is still a way to get in the top 25, although playing on tiny or small maps probably isn't a way to get there.

I think the early versions didn't submit win info (only N/A showed) and then they changed it so the old games showed Win instead.

I also submit all my games, I'm not much interested in bragging rights so no big deal if it's a bad score. Just finished a game at gigantic / painful and didn't find it a challenge which is far more important than any abstract public scoring system...

Interesting. I didn't even know you could submitt losses. I usually just stop playing once the inevitable becomes obvious. Guess I shouldn't do that...

Is there a way to just surrender with one button so that it generates a score to submit without having to watch your defeat in slow mo.

Easiest way to surrender is to just give all your planets to the AI.
