Why does my population start at 0 when I start a new game. My planets say I have 1000 million people and I start with two colony ships but at the end of the turn I become extinct and cant play the custom map. Is there anything I need to do?

Search for "xnemth" in the forum - that's the author's username. It'll bring up some stuff that he figured out about it over a year (!) ago. Basically, there's just too darn many planets on that map (over 1000?), and your homeworld gets ignored. This planet limit is probably fixed in a later patch, since I'm having the same problem with Altarian Prophecy unpatched. I'll patch it with Stardock, and I bet that'll fix it.
