how to set ships on auto pilot?

When i try to move 2 ships that have a move of 1. I get a message to put them on auto pilot to move them.

How do I put them into auto pilot?

Greetings earthling,

if they out of range (you found some ships). Simply left click the ship and afterwards right click it on starbase or planet in one of your sectors.

To autopilot normally left click and afterwards rightclick whereever you want to go.

Easy way to tell what's the range: click the ship, and on the minimap, the highlighted sector boundaries indicate the sectors it can move to.
