SB bonuses stacking for enemy ships speed - ??

A question, the idea stuck me and I can't verify by playing right now (office ... :( ).
Normally SB bonuses stack...In the case of speed +/- to ships in sector, if it stacks it'll be awfully unbalanced ! Build 4-6 SBs with basic beams/-1 to speed each, and noone can ever move in your sectors - so couldn't either destroy the SBs (unless they are on the sector's edge, just avoid this ! ;) )!!
How does the game handle this ? :notsure:

I haven't tested it, but supposedly it stacks, but will never reduce the speed of an enemy ship below 1.

Someone somewhere said they had made a blackhole sector for enemy ships - they just couldn't move once they entered the sector. Apparently the AI kept on sending more ships in too.

Haven't tried it myself, but I'd like to see it work like Popup suggests.

I'f anyone has a game where they can get enemy ships stopped in a sector, please send it to us. This is a pretty huge cheese tactic if it's possible, but as popup said, ships should never be stopped, simly slowed to no less than 1 move per turn.

Even better, invert their direction, speed of -1. So whatever direction they enter the sector from, they get pushed back... I bet that came up as a bug at some point...

Thx for the clarifications !
However it still sounds cheesy to me to be able to have enemy reduced to -3 speed with 3 SBs having -1 enemy speed in each, which is possible with a pretty early tech, rather than have to wait for improved modules...
IMHO the effects shouldn't stack at all .. And what about positive bonuses ? Do they also stack without limit, allowing Battleaxes or Dreads to get 10 moves/turns ?

I'll have to test this out myself. Right after I smack those Drengin ******* around some more.

Yes the positive effects stack- I've had a sector with 141 starbases in it and upgraded a few, was getting +13 speed through the sector.
