Gal Civ wont start?

Ok so i run Win XP i have the settings to 1024 x 768 with 16 bit colors and it will run but wont work it is in my processes and wont start the game. what should i do?

Odds are pretty good that if you have an XP computer, you probably meet all system requirements, but just in case, you may want to list what your computer has in it, as well as, more info as to what point the game doesn't boot up - load screens, into the game, doesn't start at all, etc.
Onboard video vs. video card... etc

thanx and i do have an onboard video card also i meet all req and it does start (its in processes tab in Ctrl+Alt+Del) but it wont show up like video wize game wize or anything its just an on going process
