is this game compatible with Windows 7 (32 bit or 64 bit) and with Windows 8?

Don't know. It is compatible with Vista

The original CD-installed version of the game (v. 1.0) is compatible with Win7x64, although it stretches its native 4:3 viewing ratio to fit a widescreen monitor.
