Locking up- I cann't play game

When I press play game, the game locks up and I have to power down to restart. I cann't even start a freakin game.

Does someone have this problem??

how do you fix??

I have SB audigy sound card and NVIDIA TNT2 video card

Can some one help please!!

Check your sound accelleration. It must be set to Basic or higher.

To check it, go to the control panel, and look for either "Multimedia" or "Sounds and Multimedia". Under the Audio tab, select "Advanced Properties", select "Performance". The accelleration is displayed there.

When does it lock up? I have a problem where the game seems to lock up after ... oh .. 15-30 minutes of playing. Most of the time it's when I hit the 'Turn' button, but not always. I have to reset my computer, too.

Crappy on-board SB AudioPCI with an ATI 9000 Pro video card., under WinME.
