Minor Races Diplomacy

Maybe I'm just slow, but I can't figure out how to communicate with any minor races but the default one the screen brings up. Is there a toggle I'm missing somewhere?

(going from memory) above the icon for the minor race (after you hit the minor races tab) there are arrows for the other races. make sure you meet more than one other minor race :)

Do you have to physically encounter them, or is your trader report enough? Maybe that's the problem I've been having; that I haven't technically met more than one yet.

There's two ways that I know of to speak w/ the minors

1) In the diplomacy screen you will see the picture of the minor race on the left hand side of the screen. Above that picture you will see two 'arrows' and you can switch between the other races.

2) After you select the minor race planet that you want to chat with then on the upper right hand corner of the game screen you will see a 'Speak To' button that you can select.

On the right side of the minor races diplomacy screen, there should be small shields or insignia of the individual minor races that you've spotted or otherwise been in contact with. You can also click on the insignias to move from race to race.
