Sorry if this has already been mentioned.
When trading something from one race to another keep an eye on the color of the text that appears in the lower center of the trade screen. The color affects whether or not the trade will go through.
Green - The trade looks good to the other race
Yellow - They'll deny this trade.
This helps when you're using cash as a trade item. Scroll that mouse button till the text just turns yellow. Now back it up till it's green again, and bingo.
