Combat?

Is there any point in stacking your fleet? Does it give you any advantage? Or is is CiV style combat where a stack of 1 to 100 is the same in terms of attack and defense?

No. Stacking is just a convenience for the player.

If you attack with a stack, what happens?

All ships attack one at time (strongest first), until winning or dying?

Yeah, but "strongest" = (ATT+DEF), which is not always quite what you would want, so I often make individual ship attacks with the weaklings to weak them down before using the stack.

BTW, anyone know if the recent patch fixed the prb with missiles? (Because missiles oftern have the highest ATT+DEF, baddies could wipe em out very easily...)

I hope some kind of fix can be done in regard to defense. I had 4 missles stacked with a bunch of Dreadnaughts to protect them. Yeah, right. A simple, single starfighter came in and wiped out all my missles! :sniff!:

A star fighter is quire small and fast. It can out-fly your dreadnought to nail all four of those missles without any problem.

Thus, it does make a bit of sense. It might not hold up completely in all situations, but it does make sense.
