Metaverse information used?

Is the Metaverse just a "high-score" chart, or is some of the the data submitted from a game used by the developers for something more? I apologize if this has been asked before, but I couldn't find any information on it besides the obvious.

I had read somewhere that the data would be used to improve the AI and game balance. I was curious if this was really the case, or if that was just someone's idle BS.

No due to legal reasons on privacy i beleive.

I can imagine the devs manually compiling data and releasing an AI strategy update sometime in the future though.

Is the data being submitted? I assume so. Is it being used? Probably not. I would imagine serious analysis of such data will have to wait until they get some of the sound driver/CTD issues worked out. :) But Frogboy or some such important person would know better than I...

From a technical POV, I'm curious to how they are going to improve the AI with the game data. Are they using the data to train an evolutionary system? Are they just weighting technologies and production based on what successful players do?
