It is particularly important the reports and suggestions and discussions are posted to this message board.
Users on GalCiv.com can have 1 of 9 different access groups (right now they're tied itno WinCustomize.com's access system). Promotions are based primarily on merit.
Before someone starts boasting how they've participated in 50 betas of "much bigger games than this" save it. We don't care. We care about how much people are helping THIS game. We don't have the resources of a Blizzard or Sierra and it is our hope that over time, the users themselves will largely run this place and that's where the access groups come in. WinCustomize is mostly run by the users themselves, not Stardock for example. The people who participate the most and contribute the most will be the ones who end up running this place.
That said, there are some basic guidelines:
1) No swearing. This is a rated PG forum.
2) No personal attacks. Treat other people with kindness and respect please.
3) No trash talking. The metaverse is going to allow empires (think "super clans") where indviduals can merge their scores into a combined "super user". Each time someone in your empire scores points, the person who recruited (or people recruited by them) score some points as well. Empires will likely eventually dominate the metaverse (though the metaverse will be huge so there will be room for everyone). That tends to make thigns competitive. But we do NOT want GalCiv to be some sort of "clan warz" thing.
4) Off topic posts of interest are encouraged. You do not have to stick with strictly GalCiv topics. If you want to talk about philosophy or games in general or whatever you think others would enjoy hearing about, that's fine. As long as the message board remains reasonably on topic we're okay with that.
5) Have fun. It's a game, it should be fun. We're here to serve you, the gamer. Help us make it enjoyable for you.
