Odd thing about mil. and soc. building queues.....

Did anyone notice that you can switch military items from your building queue without losing previous production, while this does not work for your social queues.

I mean: if you are building a battleship and after 15 turns, you change that to a colonizer...your colonizer is almost half done already. On the other hand: if you are building eyes of the universe, and change it to manufacturing capital after a few turns, you have to start production all over.

Is this a bug, or is there some kind of logic for this???

Not absolutely sure about this but I think the the game remembers the work put in to the social queue. So in your example you would start from 0 building your manufacturing capital but if you later resume the EotU you would start from where you left off when you changed.

Not odd,
a definite design decision. It was decided that swapping ship building projects was acceptable as you could use most of the same components. Changing social projects required starting from scratch though. Returning to an old social project does continue where you left off. There was some talk of having a loss in swapping between military projects, but it was not implemented.
