Want to fix the typing problem in the 'trade cash' or 'trade influence' boxes?

Press the 'Insert' key on your keyboard once to toggle entry from insert mode to overwrite mode. Then, to type 10 when 100 is already there, just type 010, no need to press delete or backspace at all.

This "fix" stays consistent while the game is open, next time you restart, just remember to press the insert key again.

I loaded up my savegame with the reproducible crash that I had emailed to support with the SmartException log and tried pressing the Insert key. But it didn't help. The game still crashed to the desktop as before.

I *did* notice that I could use the scrollbars to adjust downward the trade amount. Afterward, I didn't experience the CTD (Crash to Desktop) phenomenon when trading.

Argh. That latest patch added an awesome feature. But these crashes are getting old. I may have to spent a few days researching modding while waiting for the next patch.

Or, I guess I could sleep.

This game is awesome!
