i heard somewhere that the CD does need to be in the try to play....

....i am not sure what it meens by that. does it mean all you need to do is install it and it play like normal or do you need the cd in the tray and i heard that in a dream i had about playing galciv but it was differnt in the fact i wasnt playing as a human i was the Yor and there was tactical fleet combat.

Once you install you can take the CD out of the tray and place anywhere you want. The game does not require the original CD in the tray to play. As mentioned by Brad beore, you can even play on two seperate computers (home and work!)

You can even play it if you've never even *seen* a CD. The direct download option means it'll work without a CD, though the option is there to buy one as well... :)

I mirrored my whole C drive to a plugged in external USB HD, just to be sure I don't loose the game. Just kiddin. :D

Ash, what do you mean with obsessed? Is that the case if you dream about the Drengin when you finally sleep for a couple of hours, after playing Galciv the best part of the day? And when you get up, try yet to find another excuse NOT to go to work? And when you bbq the taste is far better than before because you know the skin of humans is soo good of taste? And when you look at the stars, if you get the time to look at them when you finally go to the long overdue visit to the rest room whilst playing Galciv, you have this overwhelming feeling to "go out and indeed Reach For The Stars"? LOL

They may look alike, but you haven't had real BBQ until you've tasted the skin of Altarians. Their preferred colognes add an unbelievably spicy tang.

Reach for the Stars? Are you trying to get some of us nostalgic? I remember playing that game on my old Apple IIe, before I lost the disk. And the backup. And gave the Apple to the Salvation Army. Meh, one of these days, I might download it from the Underdogs, if I can readjust to building stuff once every four turns.
