Game is really chugging late with gigantic galaxy

Been playing the largest galaxy, gigantic, I think, and late in the game, it is really chugging. Movement is slow, erratic, and my music has stopped playing for some reason. Some units which I need to move don't activate - they appear on the screen but just sit there - the "activation blue halo" never appears around them. I've got an AMD 1400 Ghz, with 256 MB of RAM, which should be plenty to run the game.

Hmmm.. I hope this doesn't mean there will be problems but it sounds like bugs to me...

I've also gotten 3 random CTD in this latest game.

Does saving, rebooting and reloading the game help?

If it does, that would indicate a memory leak.

Um, Grifman, What build are you even playing?

You using a warez copy? I don't have the final version and I was on the gamma. I've never had any problems on a gigantic galaxy with the gammas and I only have a 1ghz machine.

It sounds like a beta to me. I say that because one of hte things the gamma testers reported was that end game performance had really gone well.

Plus, in the month since then, I know we've played countless games on much less impressive rigs without problems. Heck, I'm typing this on a P2-600 setup. That's what all my documented games take place on.

Don't be jerkoff, TheHamster. I'm playing the latest build, I paid my money - I don't like being accused of stealing by someone who doesn't have the facts.

That said, I think my machine had a bunch of crap going on in the background. I started the game application over and my problems went away. Seems ok now.

I find the same sort of thing, but I'm still Betazoid.
