Should I update to DirectX V9.0a?

Windows Update just offered DirectX V9.0a for my Win98SE system. Should I update now or wait? Has GalCiv been tested with this version?

(Of course I trust MS -- NOT!!!

I think GalCiv CD comes with DirectX9.0. But I didn't install it because I didn't know what it does to my pc.
