Uploading Logos

Could someone explain the process of uploading a new logo for my empire. I think I've gotten the whole 32 pixel jpg file thing figured out (I just save a bitmap icon as a jpeg), because when I tell the metaverse which image I want to use, and hit "edit empire" it now tells me that my empire has been updated rather than "cannot upload file". Nevertheless, I still see no change to my logo. This wouldn't be such a big deal if I were a computer expert, and it hadn't taken me 3 hours just to figure out how to get the logo formatted properly -- now it's personal ;) . Anyone's help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Shouldn't be any harder than it looks. Get your logo to the right size (32x32) and format (jpg), which you've done, and save that file somewhere on your computer. Go to your Empire page, and select Edit. There's a field for your logo... enter the location of that graphic. Then click Edit Empire, and it should work. I've edited other data for the GG empire no problem, although I haven't tried to change our logo...

That was quick! Thanks for the advice...unfortunately I've done exactly that with no result. It might just be that once you've selected a logo, that's it -- you're stuck with it. I'm probably making a big deal out of nothing -- I just have a tendency to go overboard when something like this "challenges" me. You're right about the other data -- I've experimented with other changes and everything else works just fine.

Perhaps your ISP is caching the old image for some reason? Because you can definitely change logos, since I've done it myself.
Try hitting ctrl-refresh, if you use IE, and see if that fixes it. :)

Odd. Bump this in the morning when the Stardock staff are around, or e-mail one of them. I'm sure they'll be happy to help you out. :)

Thanks, Mythor. I logged onto the Metaverse this morning, saw no change, so I hit ctrl + refresh and viola, there it was. It's always something simple... :D
