Alignment exploit

hello! (please forgive me for those who already knew)

Wanna change you alignment? Just keep building colony ships, load 1 mill colonists, keep colonizing (preferably when you are the most powerful, and on a colony you don't care much for since some events seem to affect the whole system), then destroying to get the morals events. Now, I don't know if this is a good thing, YOU decide. It IS kinda fun playing "evil" me, then loading up "good" me to play an alternate ending. SAVE YOUR GAME BEFORE YOU DO IT. You may not like it. :p

PS, Planet Quality penalty/bonus seems have the greatest numeric change.

cheers!

No, but colonizing planets may give you an event with 3 choices. Do it enough and you'll get a bunch of events to choose from.

This is one of those, "ya, you can do it, but why would you waste the time to?" exploits... :notsure:

Well, if you're trying to be good and don't particularly care about _exact_ role-playing, it can be really usefull. In one game i landed on a class 15 or 16 planet, and got the choice with the alien tree things that are using up all the soil. The evil choice was +30% or so the planet quality! Well, it seems the explorers just kind of accidently killed all the tree things, my alignment dropped about 20 points, and i got the best planet in my entire empire.

However each succcessive group of 1 million colonists got along really well with the three or four sentient alien races and two or three alien creatures, and weren't even tempted by the various life-sucking alien devices on the worthless 12 point planet that was sitting in the corner of one of my systems. Pretty soon my alignment was back up to 100, and everything was fine again :)

Ash,

Sure it's up to you, but I found it fun to do cuz I was evil, there were 3 goody goodies attacking me, and I was waiting for my terror stars to spead my culture. Like I said, up to you, it's just something I found useful since there are bonuses to be gained. :D

Afterwards, you can throw it into your next tech trade with an AI bog him down with a, say, quality 10 planet. Double whammy.

That's evil! :) Of course if you're being really evil, you'll make sure it's in a sector you're culturally dominant in. They'll never be able to build up a quality 10 planet in time to resist, and then you can trade it to them again :)
