Twilight Imperium - sorry if already asked (OT)

One of the factors that made me very pleased/psyched when I first started reading blurbs about GC were the occasional ref's to Twilight Imperium - an ultra keen board game that attempts to emulate the same gameplay as MOO2 (to a certain extent).

Anyone else here a fan of the board game? (sorry for the wildly off-topic question)

Oh yeah. I play the game every other weekend. I'm also running a PBEM of the game right now...
This was one of the things that first brought this game to my attention, the similarities to TI are pretty cool...

In many respects, GalCiv is a computerized version of Twilight Imperium.

Hmm interesting... did you know that Master of Orion is based on a board game too - Stellar Empires I think the name is, an old Avalon HIll boardgame.
