An Old Friend and a New Angel

This last wednesday I found out that a friend of mine, his dad passed away. He was in a motorcycle accident and died of his injuries within a few days of the accident. The man I will call Terry was 52 years old. As I sit here with his picture and Obit infront of me just makes me want not to believe he is actually gone. He was a man who inspired me growing up to remember that we are all human and that it just takes one to make the world change a little bit. He did alot of things for alot of people. Let me share with you the things he loved doing.

Terry use to raise money for charities He would take and get his friends together and they would ride there motorcycles accross the country to raise money for charities such as Cancer, Aids and MS just to name a few. Every year He would be santa claus for different places in the area. He would be a bell ringer for the salvation army. He had 2 children his daughter who is about 5 years older then me.. I see her husband every now and then they have two sons and one of them is my daughters age. Which makes me think and hope that there will be some thoughts when they are growing up about there Grandpa Terry. And then he had a son who was my age and Is married as well.

Terry was like a dad to me as well. Because when I was growing up he would watch us kids play kick ball or even tee ball and if he saw we needed help he was there. When I would go to school and he was at work and saw me, he always made sure I crossed the tracks safely especially when trains were unloading and loading cargo. And if I was late he always had a note for me to give to the teacher or principle to make sure I didnt receive detention or anything of that cause. He helped me with my home work. And when he moved from my hometown to live in minot. (where i live now with my family) my parents bought his house. My dad and him where really close as well. They did alot of things as well together. I will miss him very much. He was a great man and a great inspiration. I hope he watches from a high and helps to safety guard his grandchildren from harm. And allows those grandchildren to find out what a great angel he can be and for those children to be taught that he was a great and wonderful, kind-hearted loving man.
