AIs can win without military

I have only lost thrugh military victory , but that is only because in the gmaes I lost, it was still very early in the game.

did they win a cultural victory or did all your colonies defect? they're two different things.

I believe I know the difference between my colonies defecting and them winning through a culture victory. The overview even stated that my people were into Altarian TV and wearing their clothes. That it was hard to tell their civ from my own. It was indeed a true cultural victory. You have insulted me.

Note: By overview, I mean the win/defeat screen.

i meant no offense. i thought it would be an easy mistake to make since the mechanism is similar.

i was under the impression that the AI could only win via conquest as well. i'm pleased to hear otherwise.

Minor spoilers of the cultural defeat screen.

We have suffered a cultural defeat.

As our youth began to wear clothing styles of the Altarian Republic parents and politicians made a great deal of noise. Over the years, the entertainment we watched, the sports we played, the food we ate and things we drank all seemed to come from the Altarian Republic.

It was a slow subtle thing. Who is to say what one day our culture was no longer our own. That our philosophies, views on life, and very ways of living were overwhelmingly influenced by a distant place. Our people, like the rest of the galaxy, cannot imagine a world where the Altarian Republic were not part of our everyday lives.

While we are not united with them officially, we are, in effect, their vassals.
