Thrift stores

High quality clothing

Volunteers of America has got to be one of my favorite places to shop. I just got back not too long ago, I bought a long sleeve polo and some slim-fitting dress pants. Maybe it's just the indie rocker in me coming out, but I like dressing up really goofy. My brother got this really awesome multicolored long sleeve polo which I happened to be wearing right now.

5 minutes later (mom came home, had to show her the clothes), I changed into my other long sleeve polo and I have to admit it's pretty awesome. All of my stuff cost less than $3, which is awesome. And before people start saying, "But apdelong, you're stealing from the less fortunate people that can really use those clothes", my purchase helps fund the Volunteers of America services like getting homeless persons into shelters, education, etc., or so the sign near the door says.

I guess since I'm in the "I don't care what other people think" mode, I'd write to you all about my little spree.

Thrift stores are fun. Especially when you find plaid pants for a dollar.

Keep up the good work.

Considering how little money I earn, I always shop at thrift stores. And it's especially nice to walk down the street wearing something different to every other teeny bopper around!

I do stop at the shoes though. It is just a little too gross for my liking

They wouldn't carry shoes in my size anyway lol. What baffles me is that they sell men's pajamas, which are like someone elses boxer shorts. That is DISGUSTING. Underwear is over the line, but I guess that's rural Ohio for ya.

I would have to agree with you. That is pretty disgusting but think about what stuff they sell there that are girls things. It is just as bad for us i promise. lol.

Have either of you walked into family dollar to see that they have a bunch of ladies underwear just laying in a big pile on the table? Are those clothes "is as"?

Capt. over and out!

I'll definitely have to check that out, Captain. That's pretty freakin' sick, but again, ya gotta think of where we are lol!

*cringes* ew... Um... I don't think I blame you for not wanting to wear certain articles of clothing from places like that. Somethings, you just can't wash all the grossness off. . .lol

You shouldn't feel bad about shopping in a thrift store. The only ones that tick me off are the ones who shop thrift stores to PROFIT off of them (and yes, there are many people who do that, sad to say...that's why prices have gotten so high in some of the thrift stores).

I don't feel bad for the most part, I thought I would until I actually participated.

I don't understand how to profit off of a thrift store?
