One Giant Bite for Mankind
Wanna Fork? No? Chopsticks Maybe?
if you wear glasses (whether fitted with prescription lenses, for reading or even sunglasses), you've likely often pondered--as i have--that cruelest of paradoxes. modern technology enabled us to put a man on the moon but failed to deliver glasses with detachable framearms (the technical term is temples) capable of being used as chopsticks or forks. it didn't matter how much money you had. they weren't available at any price..
until now.
thanks to the brilliant engineers and designers at ic! berlin who responded to what's been described as "growing demand from time-pressured sushi fans" so busy they must eat on the go, the glasses/chopsticks/fork barrier has finally been breached. for a mere $330.00, mankind is now able to realize a dream once dismissed as too fantastic even for science fiction by the most optimistic visionaries of ages past.
"The idea came from the common need for cutlery at any time," said company director ralph anderl, who delights in being able to indulge in anything from sea eel to sashimi at any time and anywhere. .
"Our so-called sushi specs have been a particular hit in Japan," ralph proclaimed.
ic! berlin's revolutionary breakthrough was made possible thanks to innovative utilization of lightweight stainless steel components. framearms are precisely machined to fit snugly into optical module receptors eliminating any need for screws or other fasteners.
as word travelled around the globe, people of all nations experienced sublime joy...dare i say, bliss?..ecstatic to be alive in what can only be described as this too miraculous era. basking in a grateful planet's accolades, ic! berlin refused to rest on its laurels, cautiously reminding users of work yet to be done. though these new specs will satisfy their need to speed feed, framearmed diners may not always be able to see what's on their plates since the glasses cant be worn while temples are in use as chopsticks or forks.
last moment notice: just when i thought it couldn't get better...it has. i've discovered another manufacture that uses parallel technology (it adds monel wire to the mix), enabling this competitor to provide top quality glasses with detachable temples for a fraction of ic! belin's price. although the manufacturer of microtech screwless 1126 eyewear glasses does not make an claims as to its product's use as chopsticks or forks, the 1126 glasses are priced at a mere $79.99 and certainly appear suitable for wearing on or dining out.
