Game frozen

The game froze on me. Basically the "Turn" button is stuck in the "inactive" mode - apparently as if the game is between turns.

Another thing: Have any of you guys noticed that the game generates an average 6 page faults per second - or is that only me? When I ALT-Tab out of the game it generates them as steady as it goes..

correct me if I am wrong but page faults are merely the system attempting to access data that is not currently in the cache. isn't this independent of the game, but part of the OS?

You may well be correct. I've never understood that part :-)

Perhaps I should elaborate a bit:
I've tried clicking on every ship, switching between planet view, economic view, research view and galactic view.
Game kept being frozen. Shut down and got this in the debug.err:
