Keeping units centered

I find it a bit annoying to always have to recenter my screen on my scout or other ships as they are moving about. How about an option to always keep the selected ship centered even as I move it? Also, like the mini-map, it would be nice to have a bit of zoom control on the main screen as well to see more of what is ahead.

Thirded. Please add this to the wish list! Thanks! This would help in all those situations where the ships run under the window borders, but the screen doesn't recenter. Also would prevent condition where a ship would zip to the undecorated edges (left/right) and attack something offscreen, and you cannot see what was attacked.
