Trade Goods

I don't exactly understand what you do with trade goods, or their benefits.

Maybe I just am missing something?

I realize only one group can make one type, but what is the benefits of having them?

Trade goods are like Wonders that can be traded. They provide certain benefits to your civilization. For example, Diplomatic Translators increase your diplomacy abilites and Aphrodisiac increase your reproductive rate. In addition, you can trade these items to other Civs. You have the exclusive rights, so the Civ to which you trade cannot then trade it to someone else. They are good bargaining chips when trying to trade for techs/money/ships, etc.

Oh okay, I was wondering why in the world I'd ever want to trade for one... I guess I didn't pay attention to what benefits they provide.

But if you trade it away, do you still get the bonus yourself?
