More Autopilot Options...

Perhaps I am alone in this, but I am finding autopilot to be a pain in my rear. Maybe I am not utilizing it correctly, but I wish there were a few more (or at least a couple of) options.
A simple 'autopilot off' option would be great, when I'm in a nasty battle, and I want to micromanage my ships movements.
Also, controlling WHEN autopilot goes would be a great help. For instance, I would love for there to simply be another button called 'run auto now' or something. That when hit, will at this point run any ship with autopilots set to their completion. As it is, ships move before I mean for them to move. It is not easy to find where a ship is. If you double click on one in the ship list, if that ship has not yet moved, it will. This is a major pain, imo. I may want to see where that ship is in relation to where other races ships have moved prior to my new turn. But the only way to do this is to manually scroll around the map and look for them. ugh..
If I could have an autopilot off option, and an option to run all autopilots rather than have them do them automatically, I would be quite happy!
Does anyone else have an issue with autopilot, and how it works? Any suggestions? I really would like to not have my auto'd ships move until after I have seen what is going on. And preferably after I go to certain ships locations by double clicking on them in the ship list. Is there something I am missing?
