Lets debate adding Multiplayer to GalCiv

Glancing through the forum I could only find a few references to it. Most seem to treat the idea with disdain. Like allowing more players to play at once could be a bad/evil thing that could destroy the game. Ok so i exaggerate. But so do some of you.

I dont see how adding a multiplayer option to the game over online or hotseat style would have any negative repercussions to single player playing.

Anyone wish to debate this? I think it could add value to the game. Players could cooperate to try to vanquish a particularly tough AI opponent. Or they can play against each other manipulating the AI to attack there human opponents. Winning would be when you defeat the other player even if AI are still around and even more powerful then you.

Sure it would add nothing to single player games but its not like multiplayer is so incompatible with any game like this.

If you do make it multiplayer my idea is that when others are taking there turn in a online multiplayer you could be allowed to set paths production etc so you can be almost ready to go when there done with there moves. This would reduce the amount of time it takes for turns to go by.

I said this before & I say it again BOTF was almost the exact same game as gal civ & MP was the best part .. the only thing differant was fighting & it was fantastic .. but im telling you guys its the same game

I know gal civ 1 can never be MP it wasnt made to be , but 2 should have MP options ,,, If you ever played BOTF you know it can & does work !!!!!!!

Also their was a timer , that you could set that only allowed you to have so much time per turn to take it .. I knew lots of people that played it .........

Really? Considering the races were so imbalanced so as to have 2 of them entirely unplayable multiplayer unless someone like me was just plain better than everyone else then I'd be assigned em and 1 more of them only playable as an alliance win, I'd say multiplayer BOTF stank. I did like the game, however.

me & my friends played alot & it was pretty well balanced .. the Romulans had an edge imo but hey ... MP still worked & it was still VERY VERY fun .. it was also made like along time ago ... but you hae to admit they made the MP aspect great ... esp the fights ...
