Crash to desktop problem...

Every game that I play, eventually the game develops a disliking to a particular screen or action. The last game i played if I went into the stats section i would crash to desktop...if I selected any of the 3 outcomes for a planetary event the game would crash in the same fashion. also at random times it would...

ive been looking through the site and found no solution to this problem..anyone care to help me out?
