Bugs with 1.02.49

I just installed the latest patch having completed my best game yet. I wanted to go back and try something on my previously saved game, but could not. When I finally gave up, I started a new game. My first hint at something wrong came in the form of an event - no image, and no words came up. I had no idea what I was agreeing too, but wrote that off as an error with one of the downloaded events I have. But when I was informed that the UP was going to meet next month, that was my REAL clue. When next month arrived, the game just closed. No errors, no bleeps, nothing. Just closed. I reloaded, saved before the meeting, and tried again. Same result. I reinstalled the 1.02 pack, even redownloaded it and tried again. Each time, the same result. Basically, I cannot play now. Sure, I can reinstall, and that'll be a last resort, but surely there is a solution at this point... no?? Please help!!!!

Youre probley better off re-installing. After using some of the library events my game would crash every few turns. I have decided that the library events are evil and god hates them and now I never use them.

I would agree with that if they over-wrote any of the files, but I only install the new events; nothing that would cause the thing to crash... I could see for that first event, maybe that one has to come out, but they have no effect on the United Planets meetings. Something with the update nailed my game and there is no way that I can see to uninstall the update!!
