two bugs - in the build of today.

1.
I bought a colonyship. Since I after that had no use for a second, I choosed not to build a ship at all the normal way. Those two things I did right after eachother. I ended up not getting the ship I paid for, until I went back and chose that I wanted to build a colonyship. Then I got it the next round and could cancel further military projects.

2.
I had two ships that I put on autopilot the same turn. One of the ships made the first auto-move after that towards the other ship instead of the destination. I did nothing after that but pressed the turn button. The next turn it went ahead towards the destination as planned.

If I have the planet display up and press the arrows to go to other planets, the system-view on the right doesnt show the same system always. it sorta lags a click.
The new ship-display hides the lowest rightmost corner of the map. Sould have a "autohide" when you scroll down there unless you're planning to solve it in another way.

why are there hidden maintenence costs in the social projects? That the only conclusion I can come up with when I tried to do as many social projects there are. Ive done tons now in many systems and have a huge maintenence cost altho I almost havent any military at all. But only one social project has a maintenence fee listed and I havent selected that one on my planets yet. Or do you have another explaination to my high maintenence costs?

I currently have 62% tax, 10% spend (54% approval) to afford the maintenence..the maintenence is 199 bc

That's the lowest (and highest) tax I can set it at...any lower (or higher) makes less money than I have expences for.

I play with all races on the smallest map.

I have a savegame that produces a crash at the tech-selection screen.

When I buy a ship, I very often buy the social project instead, by misstake. About 1/3 of the times I buy a ship. Perhaps you can find out a better way of the purchase method or where the button is placed (two?) or something. Or is it just me?
I have also had difficulties with buying a social project when I wanted to buy a ship. I think this is a playability issue and
should get some scrutiny. Maybe your idea of two purchase buttons placed so there is no ambiquity about what each applies to
would be a good idea.

Cheers,
Jack

"If I have the planet display up and press the arrows to go to other planets, the system-view on the right doesnt show the same system always. it sorta lags a click."

This happens, as far as I can tell, when one have more than one colonized planet in a system.

Thanks!

BTW, we're reading all the m3essages, just not always able to respond to them. Thanks John and Fred!

Fred,
your first bug, the paying for a colony ship and not receiving it, does not sound like a bug. It's identical to hoe Master of Orion 2 works. You pay for the build but have to leave the build queue on the ship desired so that NEXT turn it's built. If you change the queue then it builds something else, or nothing if you select nothing.
Paul.

I am not sure that I am understanding this correctly. This is the way it's supposed to work: When you select a star from the starmap and click on a planet, opening the planet data screen, you are in the system mode, as indicated by the ring around the planet button at the bottom of the screen. The arrows should then switch between star systems. If you click on the center button, making the ring disappear, the planet list will pop up and the arrows cycle through the planets in the list. Which mode are you in, and where precisely is the lag occurring?

Not sure Fred.

The current way you pay for the build POTENTIAL not the item you want to build. It only gets built the following turn using the potential you paid for. Fairly standard implementation.

Perhaps some method of actually paying for the item, which then zeros the build potential and produces the item. This would allow for delayed items (you've paid for it but that ship will still take 3 turns to arrive).

Alternatively fixing the build queue after you buy something so that it cannot be changed until that item is delivered next turn.

Paul.

Cari: Cool, didnt notice the diffrerence in behaviour. I thought that if one toggled in the planet-view it'd toggle between planets. not that I could choose. logicly Id expect "toggle-arrows" in the system-view to the right if one wants to toggle between systems, but this is fine, as long as one knows it :)
